Imran Khan on 14-day judicial remand
The country’s anti-terrorism court has sent former Pakistan Prime Minister and Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan on a 14-day remand in seven new cases. The Express Tribune.
Express News reported that during the hearing presided over by ATC Judge Amjad Ali Shah, the court granted Imran Khan’s remand in six other cases in addition to the New Town police station case.
Police arrested Imran Khan, who was lodged in Adiala Jail after he was granted bail in the Toshakhana 2.0 case.
The court rejected the application for physical remand in six cases from September 28 to October 5 and ordered Imran Khan to be sent to judicial remand. After the judicial remand was granted, Imran Khan was taken into the custody of the prison police.
Imran Khan’s Cell-4 was designated as the New Town police station. After going on judicial remand, his cell will now be part of Adiala Jail.
Earlier, Imran Khan was arrested in six cases related to the protests of September 28, October 4 and October 5. However, no one has been arrested in 28 cases related to the protests of November 24.
Seven cases have been filed against the founding chairman of PTI for the protests of September 28, October 4 and October 5.
