Japanese ambassador on 2-day visit to Nagaland
He also interacted with members involved with colleting bones of World War II Japanese soldiers buried in and around Kohima.
Japan’s ambassador to India, Hiroshi Suzuki on Sunday arrived Nagaland on a two-day visit. Suzuki, accompanied by a team of counsellors from the Embassy, visited various historical places in and around Kohima including Heritage Village Kisama, World War Museum, War Cemetery, Kohima Cathedral etc.
He also interacted with members involved with colleting bones of World War II Japanese soldiers buried in and around Kohima.
Taking to twitter, Suzuki said: “Visited Nagaland for the first time. I had a fabulous lunch with 3 ladies from the Kohima Japanese Bone Collecting Team. They have been contributing to the Japanese bone collect mission for decades. I very much enjoyed local delicacies of Nagaland.”
“Their episode of friendship with Japanese veterans and their family touched my heart,” he said.
The Ambassador was also scheduled to call on Nagaland chief minister Neiphiu Rio later in the evening.
