Male: Malaysian carrier, Malaysia Airlines has relaunched services to Maldives on Thursday.
The airlines opening flight from Kuala Lumpur landed at Velana International Airport yesterday afternoon. The flight was greeted with a water salute to mark the commencement of services.
The 168 passengers were warmly welcomed with traditional dances.
The airline will operate daily flights between the Maldives and Malaysia using a 174-seat Boeing 737-800.
Malaysia Airlines last operated flights to the Maldives in 2017. Malaysia remains one of the most visited countries by Maldivians.
