What the Kolkata Mayor said about stopping treatment for Bangladeshi patients

Several doctors and private hospitals in Kolkata have announced that they will not provide medical services to any Bangladeshi patient due to the insulting of the Indian flag. However, Kolkata Mayor Firhad Hakim opposed this decision by a section of doctors.
Firhad said, “There is anarchy going on in Bangladesh. There is an awkward situation going on all around. Maybe that is why patients are not coming. But I have no news that anyone has not come legally and received treatment. Someone can personally stop treating Bangladeshi patients. But if a person is sick, even if he is my enemy, I will cure him. This is the religion of a doctor. Our humanity will not be there. If someone comes to kill me, if he needs treatment, we have to provide treatment.”
Photos of the insulting of the Indian national flag in various educational institutions in Bangladesh have been published on social media. Renowned gynecologist Indranil Saha shared one such photo and announced that he would stop seeing Bangladeshi patients on Thursday night.
After this, a private hospital in Maniktala, North Kolkata, announced that it would stop admitting Bangladeshi patients. Opposition leader Shuvendu Adhikari called for doctors to boycott Bangladeshi patients. Meanwhile, Firhad spoke about tolerance.
Recently, protests are being made by drawing designs of the Indian and Israeli flags on the ground of various university campuses in Bangladesh and walking on them.
After such an incident at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), now designs of these flags have been seen in the TSC cafeteria area of Rajshahi Science and Technology University (RSTU), Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU) and Dhaka University (DU).
Earlier, protests were seen by drawing the Israeli flag and walking on it, but this time the Indian flag has been added to the ISKCON issue. It is said that such an initiative has been taken mainly to show hatred.
