Thimphu: The Opposition Leader Dorji Wangdi once again asked the government to show concrete benefits that Bhutan has gained from being a member of the BIMSTEC since its entry in 2004.

He pointed this out at the ongoing deliberations on the adoption of the BIMSTEC Charter in the National Assembly today.

He also suggested that ratifying the Charter would bring no difference if there are no significant outcomes.

The Foreign Affairs and External Trade Minister Dr Tandi Dorji said that besides economic benefits, participating in such organisations will also add to national security.
